Economic Factors:
  • The Malaysian rubber market continued to close lower today on weaker demand in line with declines in the Tokyo Commodity Exchange and the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
  • Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd's (MHB) pre-tax profit fell to RM20.07 million for the third quarter (Q3) ended September 30, 2014 from RM41.12 million in the same period last year.
  • Dryness in certain areas in Malaysia and Indonesia this year will also likely impact crude palm oil (CPO) production in 2015, but bodes well for the commodity price.
  • The 27-sen per share offer to minority shareholders of Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) to delist from Bursa Malaysia and take it private.
